Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!

Did you know that in 1964, Martin Luther King, Jr. was the youngest person ever to receive a Nobel Prize?

He was 35 years old. His non-violent and persistent protests showed the world how to bring attention to the horrors of discrimination.
He showed us how love really could change the world!

Did you know that Martin Luther King, Jr. day is also known as National Day of Service?

If public services brings happiness, Martin Luther King, Jr. must have been a very happy and fulfilled man. Can you imagine what the world would be like if everyone volunteered once a month? We can!
And we have some ideas on great places to volunteer for anyone who wants to make a difference in the world:

  • Church or Mission
  • School or Daycare
  • Women’s or Homeless Shelter
  • Foster a child
  • Animal Shelter
  • Food Bank
  • Cleanup Parks or Streets

At First Step Phonics, our volunteer work has been at schools as well as helping children in need. Consider your superpower and what you love to do, and roll with your gut. We wish you great happiness!
